Recently into the music scores of Hans Zimmer for the major films – what a musical find.

So far, Hans Zimmer’s score for the film ‘The Last Samurai’ is my favourite. The whole piece is sublime, from start to finish (about 40mins). Listening to it feels like ‘blocking’ out the world around me while I’m totally immersed into the music. I feel all sorts of emotion from it, like an emotional ride; from calmness, peace, strength, fear, patriotism, courage, determination, love, forgiveness, serenity, passion, sadness, loss, conflict and recovery – ALL of them. A beautiful audio journey.

Currently reading ‘The Art of Living’ by Bob Proctor. And this quote by Albert Einstein sticks out:

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift
and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honours
the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

This still remains an acute reflection of our society today. We have created a system that rewards consistent and commonplace hard work, while our real passions and nature as humans to seek fulfilment and pleasure from doing what we love, are suppressed, barely able to see light. Those who do manage to walk against the current, despite all odds, are seen as heroes.
