Metro Cafe, Archway Station

Almost a month here in London.

This week has been a really fruitful week, and I am grateful for that. I am always wanting more that sometimes I forget that I am actually going quite steadily.

I decided (suddenly) last night to rewatch the film ‘Gladiator’. I think I was about 12 or 13 when I first watched it with Dad. Very glad that I did so – it was such a beautiful film. I was really inspired by the cinematic tones of the film, in particular the starting scene of a hand running lightly over a wheat field. I want to add that sort of element into my next shoot. I’m also planning to visit towns outside of London this month soon.

23:50PM, Home

Yesterday’s shoot with Karime was absolutely inspiring and beautiful. I felt an instant connection with her from the moment we met outside Wapping Station. I knew it was going to be a good shoot then. Karime is stunning, I loved her bright red coat. I was definitely ‘in love’ during the shoot as well.

The most amazing part was when we were facing the Thames river, and the thought to capture something cinematic kicked in (inspired from the film Gladiator that I recently watched). I remember looking into the viewfinder of my camera and thinking: “This is one of the most beautiful moment I’ve seen in a while!” The mood, light, Karime’s expression all fell into place and was perfect. I captured a photo which I am really really happy with. She is my kind of model and I just want to photograph her more. I was quite open about letting her know of how I felt, hope I didn’t scare her away a little!
